You may not need to replace that favorite pair of expensive sunglasses or prescription eyewear. Don't throw them out just because of cracked plastic, broken hinges, worn pads, fractured temple arm or other damage. We can take your damaged or worn eyeglass frames and, combining old-fashioned expertise with new technologies, return to you in a usable, wearable state -- and at a fraction of the cost of buying new ones. Why Repair?

Eyeglasses are expensive. Beyond the obvious, they are as unique as the individual that wears them. Customers become accustomed to the fit of their existing glasses, and generally a new pair will never seem the same as an old pair. We can extend the life of your frames until you are ready for a new look or a new prescription. Or, you can repair an older pair to use as a spare or have them tinted for sunglasses.

How We Do It

To begin the process, the broken area is disassembled and sanded to dull the surface and permit maximum energy absorption from the SpecMedic Laser Welder. The frame is then held in the proper position in the laser and laser beams are applied into the damaged area. The repair area is about 2 millimeters in size and can be sanded dull to a matte finish or polished to a high shine. A laser-repaired frame will never tarnish like solder does.

Our laser welding technology can also repair titanium frames. This is the only method known to repair titanium. The eyeglasses are then reassembled with replacement parts as required and ultrasonically cleaned. The result is near perfect and lasts years into the future.
